As you know the Galaxy Note 2 received Android 4.3 Android Jelly Bean
OS. Unfortunately the same hasn’t been yet OTA released, so for now you
can only flash the leaked version of the firmware which is dubbed as
XXUEMI6. In case you have updated your Note 2 to Android 4.3 now you are
probably looking for a suitable root method that can be safely applied
on the XXUEMI6 ROM. If so, the present step by step guide will be
exactly what you need, as the guidelines from below will easily take you
through the root process.
The leaked variant of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS for Galaxy Note has
just been made available and anyone can apply the same on their
phablets. Even though the firmware is not the OTA release, the same is
stable and comes with all the goodies that are included on the official
Jelly Bean 4.3 software. The best is that now you can also root the new
OS, so first update to XXUEMI6 system and then return here and use this
tutorial for gaining root access.
The root package will be applied on your Note 2 via Odin, so you have
nothing to worry about. This process is safe and will smoothly work for
your handset. Of course this guide will only work for the leaked
Android 4.3 XXUEMI6 system and not for any other versions of the Android
OS that might run on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, so be careful in what
you do and try not to mess things up because you can end up in bricking
your smartphone as after all this is a complex and risky procedure.
Gaining root access isn’t an option especially if you own a high end
device like the Galaxy Note 2. An advanced Android user should know that
there is no fun without root. On a rooted Android gadget you can have
access to the internal system which means that your device becomes your
new playground. Basically, you will be able to upgrade the battery life,
power up the speeds and improve the performances. Actually, on a rooted
Galaxy Note 2 you will be able to remove bloatware, in built programs,
add new and custom apps from Google Play, install a custom recovery
image, update with a custom ROM, or overclock the CPU.
If you want the same for your phablet, complete this tutorial. Just
remember to backup the data first, because it might get corrupted. Also,
in rare cases for properly applying the steps a wipe is being required
(more details are being offered during the lines from below) which means
that all of your personal saves will be erased. In order to avoid
unpleasant situations from happening and since you can never be too sure
when it comes to your personal info, accounts and data, before rooting
your Note 2, save your contacts, messages, call logs, market apps and
everything else you might need afterwards.
On the other hand, you shouldn’t go any further without completing
the tasks from the next list. I am talking about the pre requisites
which are essential if you want to safely root your Galaxy Note 2 on
leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean XXUEMI6 firmware.
- Make sure that you can use a Windows running computer, your phablet and its USB cable – Odin can be installed only on the Windows platform.
- Enable USB debugging on your smartphone; you can do it by going to “settings -> applications -> development”.
- Charge your handset or else it might get turned off in the middle of the root operation – you will risk in bricking your device if that happens; plug in the charger only if there is less than 50% power left.
- Deactivate the antivirus or antimalware programs that are running on your computer; also deactivate the security protection from the same.
- This root method is suitable only with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 model number N7100 on leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean XXUEMI6 OS.

- Turn off your phablet and enter download mode.
- For download mode press volume down, home and power buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.
- Connect your device with the computer by using its USB cable.

- If not, you should try to reinstall the drivers on your computer; then repeat the steps from above.
- From Odin click on “PDA”.
- Pick the root package from desktop.
- Don’t change the default settings from Odin: the re partition and f.reset time options should remain unchecked.
- Click on “start”.
- Your phablet will be rooted.
- You will be done when the “pass” message will be displayed and when the ID:COM section will turn green.
- You will then be able to remove the USB cable and reboot your handset.
If your smartphone gets stuck in a boot loop you need to reboot it in recovery. From recovery you will have to select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. Return and choose “reboot system now”.
